Portfolio
This project currently in development will seek to maintain some of the traditional elements of a marchigiana farmhouse on the exterior and on the inside
to completely redistribute the space to suit the modern requirements of the owner.
Sibillini National Park
Working closely with the owner, Treehouse helped to transform
this old Hotel set inside the National Park into a 4 bedroom country retreat. The task here was to
keep the interiors as light as possible since park restrictions forbid increasing window size.
Open-plan Farmhouse
With this traditional 1930’s farmhouse, the aim was to retain the open plan format
of the animal stalls and create a light modern living space.
Old Bakery
The challenge here was to retain the original features of an old bakery
and to make the animal stalls habitable. whilst masking some later additions.
Rustic Dwelling
A small rustic dwelling covered in ivy and built on rock. The task here was to adapt
the existing structure to create more living space without erasing its character and
to allow more light into the old animal stalls. The columns of the haybarn were
retained and traditional plaster was used to allow the house to breathe.
Mountain Retreat
For the eco-friendly owners of this house, tucked away in the mountains, low maintenance was key. They installed solar panels, insulated floors and a gravelled garden with rainwater irrigation system.
Centro Storico
The task here was to restore a house in the centro storico so the owners could enjoy
its roof terrace and stunning views year round. They respected the different ages of the
house keeping the original thirties floors and opening up spaces using traditional arches
and reclaimed materials.
